Faraway

Watched from afar.
Nameless.
speechless.
sightless.
A ghost of yesterday.
Voicelessness begets silence & your words would you weigh them against gold?
Nights are forever cold.
You wanted to save her from the world, but who will save her from you.
Often there in the background.
Often a phone call away.
Actions empty yet you are full of words.
So many dance on your syllables…they jump and they sway and they lay.
what makes her steps any different?
Studying you has often given her the answers before any word flow through parted lips.
You underestimate her ability to read you.
You so wise in your ways, showing her only enough to tip the scale.
You so wise in your ways, thinking this should have passed.
You so wise in your ways, needing no pathway and no beacon.
You so wise in your ways, wishing she could erase ink stains and start anew.
But without any light how can you trust your own path…you who do not direct your own steps.
You know her, but not what she needs.
She who freely bleeds.
She who is pulling thorns from her heart and fingers so that the scars fade.
You who willing hand her roses night after night.
She dials reaching for you…silence.
But you don’t see what we see in the shadows.
You don’t hear the footstep against the leaves.
The moonlight glistens as dark hair bellows in the wind.
Love seems to be our greatest sin.
You don’t see the frost on her lips.
You are not the one who chips sweat and tears from the faces of those unsheltered by the cold.
The wolves have come out to play and in the Forrest of her mind they sulk.
These thoughts she can not shake.
Pacing increases as pressure release and you cannot understand why she still sees red.
Your presence is food placed in front of her, but she is still underfed.
She waiting for you to stop running.
Place light in your heart and the food on her tongue.
We all need or strength.
The wolves are lurking in the shadows.
But you do not see what we see in the shadows.
You cannot hear the quickening steps with leaves underneath.
Majestic and beautiful they are.
They circle and wait…watching from afar.
